A couple of weeks ago on one of our many attempts to fully move from St. Louis to our new "Effing" home (and no, that will NEVER get old -- at least I don't think it will). We came across a couple of things that provided one of those "A HA" moments in life: cake. Thirty years of cake to be exact.
Living in our deep freeze (our first purchase ever as a married couple) was not only the top layer from our wedding cake, but also a teddy-bear shaped cake that my mom made for the Kyd's first birthday -- for a combined total of THIRTY YEARS OF CAKE.
Definitely an AH HA moment. Or, as Kyd likes to say, "an epiphany." I realized that if we are the kind of people who can hang on to cake for 10 and 20 years then that certainly explains why we've managed to almost completely fill an almost 2800 sq/ft of new-to-us house while leaving behind an approx 1600 sq/ft (including basement) home that really just looks like the residents have been evicted. Yep .. thirty years of cake sums up who we are and what we do.

Did you try some of those cakes?
